Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Do you ever have any trouble recognizing what the Lord's will for you is? Here are some verses to help:
Grace to you.
Ekklesia,
"Hast thou faith? have
it
to thyself before God. Happy
is
he that condemneth not
himself in the thing which he alloweth. And he that doubtest is damned if he eat, because
he eateth
not of faith: for whatsoever
is
not of faith is sin"
(Romans 14:22-23).
"Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth
it
not, to him it is sin"
(James 4:17).
These verses teach us that it is important to listen to our conscience. For whatever is not of faith is sin. And to know to do good and to not do it is sin.
"Let
nothing
be done
through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each
esteem other better than themselves" (Philippians 2:3). The New American Standard translates this as "[d]o nothing from selfishness or empty conceit . . . ."
"Do all things without murmuring and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;" (Phillippians 2:14-15).
So we should do the good we know to do, to one another; we should do things out of faith, out of a good conscience, doing nothing from selfishness (which causes strife) and vainglory, and doing all things without murmuring (grumbling, complaining) and disputing (arguing, contending). When we do these things, we will have confidence that we are in His will.
