Beloved: Grace and Peace

Mothers and the Holy Spirit
Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Happy Mother's Day, ladies. Is there any greater calling than being a mother? It was through my Mom that I learned the truth of what it means for someone to be for me. All my life I knew Mom was for me. She showed me that over and over again. In the darkest time of my life, I talked with Mom. Through our mothers, we understand the truth that "God
Grace to you.
for us" (Psalms 56:9). "If God
for us, who
against us?" (Romans 8:31b).
When I was little, Mom was the single individual who was almost always with me. When I was little, I remember only one time in my life when Mom was away from me overnight. Yes, I still remember it. When I was little, she was the one who never left me nor forsook me. I was 17 years old the first time I was away from her for more than a weekend. I was at Boys State and miserable until I called and talked to Mom. After hearing her voice and talking with her, everything was all right. Through Mom I got an understanding of the Comforter who will not leave nor forsake me, who abides with me forever (John 14:16). Because of Mom, I can understand some of the Holy Spirit's ministry.
Well ladies, I hope you get an idea of what I am trying to say. There are some aspects of God that we only come to know and understand because of who Mom is to us, especially when we are little.
Have I ever told you that God made Mom beautiful in her time (Ecclesiastes 3:11)? Yes, He did! Moms, I wasn't able to verbalize these truths to Mom when I was young. I can only look back and see how God used Mom in my life to comfort me, to encourage me, to stay close to me, to be for me.
Ladies, what a ministry you have!
he that setteth light by . . . his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen"
