Persist Until the Answer Comes
Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Do you ever wonder if God hears you when you pray, when your heart cries? When the youth have told me they have an unspoken request, I call on the following promise for them: "And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear" (Isaiah 65:24).
Grace to you.
What do you do when you don't hear or see an answer right away?
In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing
true, but the time appointed
long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision. In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks . . . . And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling. Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me for one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
- Daniel 10:1-2, 11-13
Daniel did not recieve an answer right away, so he persevered for three weeks. When the answer came, Daniel found out the answer had left heaven on the first day Daniel had set his heart to understand. His answer was delayed by the Prince of Persia (not the flesh and blood one, but the principality). So when we do not hear right away, we persevere until we do.
Well, perhaps this will give you a little hope.
