Beloved: Grace and Peace

Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. In 2010, a lady asked me about the volcanic eruption in Iceland and whether the Bible speaks of that in the last days. It is a great question, and we will become wiser as we learn to look at all of life through the lens of God's Word. Have you seen those pictures of the Icelandic volcano (no, I can't pronounce or spell its name)? What does the Bible describe?
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
David prayed, "Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke. Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out thine arrows, and destroy them" (Psalm 144:5-6). Where did David get this picture of God's presence?
Moses records that when God was giving the Ten Commandments on Mt. Sinai, "And all the people saw the thunderings, and lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: when the peoples saw
, they removed and stood afar off. And
they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die. And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not" (Exodus 20:18-20).
Paul teaches us that ". . . the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made,
his eternal power
and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:" (Romans 1:20).
Our Lord Jesus told some of the Pharisees, "I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out" (Luke 19:40b). In 1980, Mount St. Helens erupted. I believe Christians were losing the battle with the evolutionists, and so the very rocks cried out. Since then, Christian scientists have learned so much that the battle is being won.
If the Icelandic volcano caused England and Europe some financial impact, perhaps it is because He was telling them not to trust in riches, but in Him.
