Elkmont Baptist Church

May we take this opportunity to extend a welcome to our website on behalf of all of our EBC members. We would also like to extend to you an invitation to join us for our services on Sunday morning and Wednesday night.
If you are perusing this page, it may be that you are interested in visiting our church and you may have a few questions . . .

Making Your First Visit?

EBC is nestled just inside the entrance to the Elkmont Rural Village several miles north of Athens on Highway 127. The building is at the corner of Bob Jones Parkway (village entrance road) and Sulphur Creek Drive (the first road on your left after you enter the village). Our address is 18890 Sulphur Creek Drive, Elkmont, AL 35620. Our phone number is (256) 732-4926. A map is located on the
What to Expect
First time church visitors seem to have a particular set of questions in mind when they view our website before deciding to come to our church . . .
What are the people like?
We are born-again Christians who love the Lord and strive to serve Him. Our backgrounds may differ (professional to non, education of our children, places we're from, culture, etc.), but we desire to become of one accord by aligning ourselves under the commands and direction of the Holy Spirit.
What about the service?
We are conservative and traditional regarding our music worship and serious about our study in God's Word. Most of us dress in traditional church attire, but all we ask is for modest apparel.
What entrance should I use?
Use the side entrance located under the carport. The doors to the sanctuary flank the entrance foyer (in the hallway).
Who is the pastor?
EBC believes in shared Eldership (there is safety in a multitude of counselors), and currently our two associate Pastor/Elders are Bros. Joseph Kress and Bill Williamson. Both men are bi-vocational in that while they serve in their shared capacities at the church, they "mend tents and nets" in the secular world to earn a living.
What are the service times?
Currently:
Sunday Morning Fellowship/Assembly Time: 9:45 a.m. (This is the start of Sunday School, we fellowship for the first several minutes)
Sunday School Bible Study: 9:45 a.m.
Sunday Morning Service: 11:10 a.m.
Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting and Encouragement: 7:00 p.m.
What are the child care arrangements?
We have a nursery that overlooks the sanctuary. However, we encourage those who so desire to keep your children with you in the services as we are family-worship oriented, and want you to feel comfortable with or without your children with you throughout your stay.
